Hankyung Job&Joy interviewed Young Soo Joung on 30 November 2025, as part of a series on chief executives incubated at the Smart Construction Support Center of the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology.

The article identified the breadth of the technology portfolio and the production line as the company's strengths: silicon-based thin and lightweight modules, hydrogel-based coloured, flexible and semi-transparent modules, and perovskite-based semi-transparent modules held together.

Domestically the company was pursuing BIPV development and demonstration with major construction firms while preparing KS certification and validation work with KICT; abroad, exhibitions in Japan, the United States and Europe were widening its contacts with architectural practices and energy companies.

Joung set a near-term goal of entering the domestic market through KS certification and a medium-term goal of full-scale exports from 2027. The first was met four months later, in March 2026.

ACE Inventor Inc., founded in November 2022, develops ultra-lightweight building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) modules. Its core technologies are a water-based hydrogel electrolyte membrane, electrophoretic large-area flexible electrode coating, and ultra-lightweight curved module design using FRP and ETFE composites. The company operates a 50 MW annual production line in Paltan-myeon, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, and holds KS C 8577 BIPV module certification together with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
