ACE Inventor Exhibits Lightweight Modules and BIPV at Green Energy Expo
ACE Inventor unveiled a range of ultra-lightweight solar modules built on new materials at the International Green Energy Expo in Daegu on 22 April 2026, Korea's largest renewable energy exhibition.
At the centre of the launch was an FRP heating solar module. Conventional glass panels have been too heavy for ageing buildings and curved structures; applying FRP cut weight by up to 70 per cent while retaining flexibility and durability. The module is designed to protect structures and limit generation losses when snow accumulates — on polytunnels and barns, settled snow can collapse the frame or cover the panel outright.
A vehicle-integrated sunroof module was shown alongside it. The technology turns sunroofs, bonnets and boot lids into generating surfaces, and at about 2.8 kilograms it is more than 70 per cent lighter than a comparable double-glass module. Flexible FRP allows it to follow the curve of a car roof, and the absence of glass removes the risk of fragments on impact.
"This module is a case of laboratory technology meeting a university's startup support system and reaching the market as an actual product," Joung said, adding that the company would "extend its range into ageing industrial facilities and the zero-energy building market at home, and into global mobility and snow-heavy regions abroad."
In the same month the company was selected for a support programme for entry onto a Japanese online sales channel. Coming shortly after certification, the exhibition was also the first public outing for its certified product.
ACE Inventor Inc., founded in November 2022, develops ultra-lightweight building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) modules. Its core technologies are a water-based hydrogel electrolyte membrane, electrophoretic large-area flexible electrode coating, and ultra-lightweight curved module design using FRP and ETFE composites. The company operates a 50 MW annual production line in Paltan-myeon, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, and holds KS C 8577 BIPV module certification together with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. Its patent portfolio includes seven registered Korean patents and one registered US patent, with 23 applications filed in Korea and abroad. Contact info@aceivt.com · www.aceivt.com
