Simultaneous Filing of Core BIPV Patents Expands the IP Portfolio
ACE Inventor filed a group of core BIPV patents in February 2026, covering materials, structures and systems in a single batch.
The filings track the product roadmap: an ultra-lightweight glass-to-glass BIPV module with an ultra-thin glass reinforcement layer, a passive hot-spot suppression structure using Teflon-coated aluminium sheet, a module designed to reduce reflected glare, a unitised curtain wall system, and a three-dimensional curved module for vehicle body panels.
Hot-spot suppression and glare reduction are practical problems in architectural application. A partially shaded module heats at the shaded cells and loses life; a façade module that throws reflected light draws complaints from neighbouring buildings and roads. Neither bears on generation performance, yet both make a developer hesitate.
In the same period the company was named a Global IP Star by the Korean Intellectual Property Office and the Korea Invention Promotion Association, which covers the cost of foreign filings and office actions. It follows the registration of its first US patent, US 12,494,325 B2, in December 2025.
ACE Inventor Inc., founded in November 2022, develops ultra-lightweight building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) modules. Its core technologies are a water-based hydrogel electrolyte membrane, electrophoretic large-area flexible electrode coating, and ultra-lightweight curved module design using FRP and ETFE composites. The company operates a 50 MW annual production line in Paltan-myeon, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, and holds KS C 8577 BIPV module certification together with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. Its patent portfolio includes seven registered Korean patents and one registered US patent, with 23 applications filed in Korea and abroad. Contact info@aceivt.com · www.aceivt.com
