ACE Inventor Raises KRW 300 Million Seed Round from Korea Value Investment
ACE Inventor raised 300 million won from the Weltousi-KVI Amundan Fund I on 19 June 2023, structured as redeemable convertible preferred stock and closed seven months after incorporation.
What drew attention in diligence was the water-based hydrogel electrolyte membrane, a field in which the founder had been filing patents since before the company existed: a hydrogel forming method using electrophoresis registered in January 2021, an electrolyte and manufacturing method for dye-sensitised cells in May 2022, and a dye-sensitised cell incorporating a hydrogel electrolyte that June.
Most of the money went into multi-cell processing, the step that binds many cells into a single module and the gateway to making large-area BIPV a product rather than a demonstration.
The round opened a Pre-A sequence that ran for two years and four months, filled out by the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency in July 2024 and by CNT Tech, the Korea Technology Finance Corporation and Mobidic Ventures in 2025 to reach 2.1 billion won in total.
ACE Inventor Inc., founded in November 2022, develops ultra-lightweight building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) modules. Its core technologies are a water-based hydrogel electrolyte membrane, electrophoretic large-area flexible electrode coating, and ultra-lightweight curved module design using FRP and ETFE composites.
