ACE Inventor Selected for the IP Innovation Premier 1000 Program
ACE Inventor was selected in 2026 as a designated company in the intellectual property track of the government's Innovation Premier 1000 programme, following its own application and review.
Innovation Premier 1000 is a policy finance programme run by the Financial Services Commission with fourteen government departments, identifying small and mid-sized companies with high innovation and growth potential. Selected companies gain access to dedicated products and preferential terms from policy finance institutions including the Korea Development Bank, together with non-financial support covering private investment, overseas market development and tailored consulting. Each department issues an Innovation Premier certificate, with support running to the end of 2027.
The intellectual property track, for which the company applied, is nominated by the Korean Intellectual Property Office. The portfolio behind the application thickened considerably during 2026: eight applications were filed on 27 February alone, covering an ultra-lightweight G2G BIPV module with an ultra-thin glass reinforcement layer, a passive hot-spot suppression structure using Teflon-coated aluminium sheet, a module designed to reduce reflected glare, a unitised curtain wall system and a three-dimensional curved module for vehicle body panels.
Rights abroad are accumulating as well. The company's first US patent, US 12,494,325 B2, was registered on 9 December 2025, and a PCT application for a ribbon-less, busbar-less solar module followed the same month. In February 2026 it was named a Global IP Star company by the patent office and the Korea Invention Promotion Association, which covers the cost of foreign filings and office actions.
Intellectual property carries particular weight in export markets. Much of a material and a process is legible once a product is taken apart, and rights not secured in advance leave a company exposed to imitation the moment it enters a market.
ACE Inventor Inc., founded in November 2022, develops ultra-lightweight building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) modules. Its core technologies are a water-based hydrogel electrolyte membrane, electrophoretic large-area flexible electrode coating, and ultra-lightweight curved module design using FRP and ETFE composites. The company operates a 50 MW annual production line in Paltan-myeon, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, and holds KS C 8577 BIPV module certification together with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
