ACE Inventor returned to the Jeonbuk Promising Startup Scale-up 100 on 8 October 2024, a second consecutive selection.
Appearing twice in succession amounts to confirmation that a plan was executed. In the year between selections the company had secured its Hwaseong factory and begun installing equipment.
The product had moved as well. The producible size of its FRP modules reached 1,314 by 2,424 millimetres, large enough to cover broad surfaces — factory roofs, logistics centres — in single panels.
The weight figures had also firmed up. Against 15 to 25 kilograms per square metre for conventional glass, the FRP modules sit at 3 to 8 — which is to say the range of buildings that can take them without reinforcement had widened considerably.
ACE Inventor Inc., founded in November 2022, develops ultra-lightweight building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) modules. Its core technologies are a water-based hydrogel electrolyte membrane, electrophoretic large-area flexible electrode coating, and ultra-lightweight curved module design using FRP and ETFE composites. The company operates a 50 MW annual production line in Paltan-myeon, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, and holds KS C 8577 BIPV module certification together with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
